Yacht share owners, listen up: although not all yacht owners may have heard of The Cannes Collection, they may well do after this year’s event, which culminated emphatically on 5th June 2016 after four days of successful exhibition. The Cannes Collection is not intended as a conventional boat show: you will not find displays of watertoys, or the latest in yachting technology; there will be no artificial pool in which professionals demonstrate the latest in seagoing gadgetry; nor will there be yacht brokers vying for your time and attention. Instead, The Cannes Collection aims to celebrate those products that will be best enjoyed by yacht owners: supercars, helicopters, luxury jewellery and art. Welcoming some of the most prestigious names to Cannes from the world of luxury, the Cannes Collection is a brand new event that was especially designed to complement the annual Cannes Film Festival. Organised by business partners Bertrand Foäche and Eric de Saintdo, the Cannes Collection 2016 targets only the luxury market.

The iconic city of Cannes was the perfect location to hold such a luxury-focused event and welcome a discerning clientele from countries all over the world. Aside from the busy events calendar and international visitor demographic, the city has always benefitted from a close association with wealth, glamour and Riviera sophistication. Guests of the event were able to indulge in some retail therapy, purchasing items that were to their liking. Unlike other trade events, The Cannes Collection allowed visitors to purchase products that would be ready for their use this season. Luxury products included:
- Yachts for sale (22m-60m)
- Yacht services, including both charter & management
- Helicopters for sale, hire and charter
- Private jets for hire and charter
- Supercars and motorbikes for sale and rent
- Classic cars and motorbikes for sale
- Luxury watches for sale
- Premium properties for sale or rent
- Exclusive travel and exploration
- Works of art
- Dazzling jewellery
- Other luxury goods from celebrated brands
In a very unusual fashion, visitors that were interested in purchasing one of the luxury yachts on offer were able to test the feel of the yacht on the water.
Regarding the first edition of the successful event, Eric de Saintdo said: “we are thrilled with how the four days of Cannes Collection 2016 unfolded. Despite air traffic control and train strikes, and some patchy weather, which didn’t dampen spirits, there has been an overwhelming sense of positivity from all those who took part – both exhibitors and visitors – on the potential for growth with this new concept. The Cannes Collection will always be put together with the buyer in mind, ensuring we keep the quality of brands on show high, not to mention in a combination unlike anything you will find elsewhere.”
