Cannes Yachting Festival 2016: The Preview

It will be all aboard at The Cannes Yachting Festival 2016 as the yachting extravaganza comes back for another year on the French Riviera. Taking place in the sparkling bay of Cannes between the 6th and 11th of September, the festival is the largest of its kind in Europe. If you’re heading to the event or simply want to gain an insight into the festival, our guide will help you discover your Cannes luxury yachting adventure.

Cannes Yachting Festival 2016 Exhibition

Over 497 exhibitors will be meeting in two ports on the French Riviera: The Vieux Port and The Port Pierre Canto. Over one hundred boats will make their first appearance at the show along with 600 vessels on display on the water and on land.  Just over 50,000 guests are expected at the event in addition to around 800 journalists and media partners. SmartYacht will be displaying our flagship vessels at the festival in 2016, including the Sunseeker 66 and the AB 92. We will be offering expert advice on owning a luxury yacht at a fraction of the cost with the SmartYacht fractional yacht ownership or vacation club programme.

Brands debuting their latest models at this year’s show include Riva, Britain’s Sunseeker, the French Jeanneau, Prestige, Monte Carlo and much more. The event will display a range of custom vessels, dinghies, sailboats, multihulls and the largest luxury yachts.

Palais des Festivals

Being close the main entrance of the festival, visitors will gain easy access to the boat builders, architects, the Services & Design zone, banks, brokers, shipping agents and high-end accessories. Head outside to find the tender zone as well as the water toys, displaying all the latest must-have gadgets and accessories in this fast growing market.

Jetee Albert Edouard

World class shipyards will be exhibiting in this area, presenting motorised boats and yachts that are between 20 and 40 metres long.

Super Yachts Extension

The Super Yachts Extension will exhibit over 40 of the biggest yachts such as the Majesty 155, a 47-meter yacht presented by Majesty Yachts.

La Vieux Port

Quai Max Laubeuf

Located in Le Vieux Port, this area will present a variety of vessels on the water in addition to some smaller boats on land. Visitors can access the RIB village from Quai Max Laubeuf – which will be exhibiting 80 inflatable boats.

Quai Saint-Pierre

As visitors enter this area, they will find it is dedicated to the most magnificent sailboats up to 30 metres in length.

La Terrasse

Pantiero

Pantiero is the official nautical accessories and equipment village of the Cannes Yachting Festival 2016. In addition, visitors will find services such as insurance and finance companies. High-end motorboats will be on display on the water in this area along with open deck, sport fishing and fly-bridge boats.

Catamaran

This area will exhibit around 40 multihulls ranging between 10 and 30 meters.

Port Pierre Canto

Visitors will find that this area will exhibit anything and everything to do with yacht charter and brokerage. In order to gain access, visitors take a short seven-minute boat ride from Le Vieux Port. The sailing and motor boats that will be on display in Port Pierre Canto are all at least 22 meters long. International brokers and charter companies will be exhibiting here and will be available to offer advice and information during the event.

What’s new in 2016

La Terrasse is a new exhibiting space dedicated to high-end luxury services and brands. The scenic area is located alongside the most luxurious yachts at the festival and will be showcasing stunning products such as jewellery, supercars, watches, leather goods and fine wines and spirits.

Visitors can tour this new space at the Cannes Yachting Festival 2016. Exhibitors from places such as South Africa, USA, China, Tunisia and Switzerland will be showcasing over 40 catamaran and multihull vessels.
