Sunseeker 66 – a Yacht You Would Want to Own

Yacht Sharing Sunseeker 66

British yacht builders Sunseeker recently revealed that its order books for next year were 70 percent more buoyant than this year, with interest for its luxury motor yachts growing fastest in the Asia Pacific region.

The company made the bold statement at the Cannes Yachting Festival in September, where it displayed no less than eight models and marked the delivery of its 100th luxury yacht in the 100ft-plus “superyacht” category.

But let’s be honest, who wouldn’t want to own a Sunseeker? The benchmark in ingenuous and super stylish motor yachts, Sunseeker boats have a reputation which is second to none.

Take the Sunseeker Manhattan 66, for example.  This particular motor yacht heads up the company’s flybridge range, with all the style and elegance you would imagine for a boat which comes with a $4 million price tag.

The Manhattan 66 also had power. With 2100 horsepower below deck, she is able to cruise at a top speed of 31 knots, which is pretty impressive for a yacht that weighs almost 40,000kg.

The paradox is that whilst the 72ft 6in vessel is heavier than most her size, it is also extremely easy to handle, with steering which is as light as a highly tuned car. This means that for families cruising around on a Manhattan 66, dad, mum and eldest son will be quite at ease at the helm.

Below deck, the chances are that the entire family will be equally impressed. The main saloon is akin to the atrium of any five star hotel, with highly polished timber, tactile leather furniture and deep pile carpet everywhere you go. There is also ample of room for entertaining, or just chilling out in from of the pop-up plasma TV.

There is also ample accommodation for family and friends, as well as large crew quarters under the after cockpit, with her sleeping capacity totaling 6 guests.

Perhaps the piece de resistance of this stunning boat is the top deck, however, which is the perfect place on which to sit and marvel at the scenery after a day on the water. The spacious area is open plan and offers lots of comfortable seating around a first-class barbecue. Ask the crew to light her up, and enjoy sundowners before tucking into grilled fresh fish eaten to the backdrop of the open sea.
